Luis Juarbe-Jiménez is an attorney-at- law with more than 20 years of experience in complex litigation cases involving construction, banking, insurance and contract matters for both private and public clients. He has successfully handled a myriad of legal matters for, against and involving general contractors, construction managers, design builders, subcontractors, suppliers, architects, engineers, owners, lenders, sureties and insurance carriers.

Juarbe regularly represents banks and bank officers in a variety of claims including lender liability, breach of duty, negligence, breach of contract and multi-million- dollar collection actions. He has significant experience in litigation, representing assuming banks in claims arising from distressed and failed banking institutions and claims brought by the FDIC.

Juarbe’s legal expertise extends to general business disputes, disputes involving corporate management and control, claims for breach of contract and negligence, professional malpractice, personal injury, real estate disputes, and shareholder disputes.

In 2003, as founding partner of Báez & Juarbe Law Firm, he represented institutional, individual and government clients in areas of construction related claims, Banking and Insurance law, collection cases, corporate and commercial disputes and government contact bid projects. Prior to joining MHSJ, Juarbe was a senior associate at García & Fernández Law Offices. As senior associate, he represented homebuilders, general contractors, multifamily housing providers, real estate developers, and other corporate clients in construction, product liability, environmental, class action, mass tort, and insurance coverage cases brought in federal and state court.

Juarbe started his career as a law clerk for the Honorable Antonio Negrón García, associate justice of the Puerto Rico Supreme Court. He has participated as a drafter and corrector of the Board of Bar Examiners of the Puerto Rico Supreme Court and regularly provides seminars on topics related to construction, banking and commercial matters.
